Welcome to Little
Yoga Studio!

Hi I’m Nicola, founder of Little Yoga Studio, and I’m so glad you are here.

Mission and Values

My aim is to empower adults and children alike, in mind and body, through a creative, inspiring and nurturing approach to yoga. The practices I share are deeply rooted in the spiritual teachings and philosophy of yoga, with mindfulness and self-enquiry at the heart.

Little Yoga Studio was born as a space to nurture, support and empower every person at whatever stage they discover us on their yoga journey. Through practices centred around compassionate self-enquiry, we hope to help you find your groove on and off the mat.

My journey

Before teaching yoga, I worked as an Editor for national publications – delivering content in fast-paced environments to tight deadlines and vast audiences. I loved the variety of my work; from red carpets at the BAFTAs to all-nighters covering the Oscars, to a tongue-in-cheek video comedy sketch at London Fashion Week. Yet underneath the long hours and hefty workload, lingered an imposter syndrome that threatened to engulf me.

Until then, my yoga practice was merely a welcome reprieve from my unrelenting working week. Inspired by my mum in my teens, I practiced regularly, enjoying the simplicity of breath-led movement and how my anxiety seemed to quieten during those moments.

When I was made redundant in late 2014, I suffered a deep identity crisis. At home with a new baby and no job, I felt a sudden and complete loss of self. With no routine and a lack of direction, I began practicing daily, quietening the inner turmoil and, in time, learning to sit with it all.

Yoga has been a bedrock for me during difficult times. Always offering a space of sanctuary, it has both uplifted me and enabled me to process the more difficult times. When I was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, it was yoga that helped scoop me back up again.

Becoming a yoga teacher is one of the most courageous and instinctive decisions i’ve ever made. I can truly say that I never set out to become a yoga teacher; never believed I had anything worthy of sharing. Now I embody what I teach – which at the heart, is that everyone has something to offer and discover through the practices of yoga.

My yoga classes offer a route to enquire deeply within yourself. To meet yourself, in all your messy glory, with a sense of compassion, understanding and love. If we can all learn to inject a little bit more awareness, more peace and more love into our lives, then we all come away with a few more pieces of our own puzzle.

I teach uplifting, compassionate vinyasa classes focused on meeting yourself where you are. My hope is that each student leaves with a curiosity to enquire deeper within themselves and become a little more aware of the wisdom they hold within.
